A good friend once told me, in prayer and supplication, BE SPECIFIC. Do not be ashamed to ask what you truly want from God as long as you are not hurting other people. Claim your heart’s longing. Own it.
Although God knows all of our needs before we even ask, He still wants to hear our sincere request and see how strong our faith is.
“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.” — Matthew 7:7-12
“Most assuredly I tell you, whatever things you will bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever things you will release on earth will be released in heaven. Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” — Matthew 18:18-20
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly I tell you, if you have faith, and don’t doubt, you will not only do what is done to the fig tree but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done. All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.“ — Matthew 21:21-22
Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. — Mark 11:24
